The Secret of Nimh | Electric Cinema

In a 2nd hand shop somewhere in the UK sit many a Don Bluth VHS from my own childhood collection. Although kind of a 80/90’s B grade Disney there were still some classics in the Bluth back-cat, The Land Before Time (followed up by endless sequels, and sing along cash ins), An American Tale (I think we can safely skip Rock a Doodle) and most of these still have a special space in my heart…

Furthermore as US animation drifts further into the realms of CGI and 3D its great to be reminded of the still captivating delights of traditional 2d animation c/o Bluth’s ‘The Secret of Nimh’ ( a film I used to confuse as a kid with Redwall, or was that the Deptford mice….) playing at the Electric Cinema’s kids club. So if you’re in the mood for some retro fantasy 2D mouse animation bright and early on a Saturday then pop along (but please don’t scare the kids). Details…
