Elaborate fanfare please! Yes it’s easy to give your blog the world premiere of a poster when you work for the company distributing it, and even more so when it was you who was in charge of overseeing the design of it. But I guess if you’ve got it then flaunt it, and so I present to you the official UK poster for Guy Maddin’s docu-fantasia ‘My Winnipeg‘, which will be in UK cinemas from July 4th.
The poster was designed by the guys at The Church of London (who you may know better as the guys behind the spiffing film magazine Little White Lies). Thanks to everyone who helped bring it into existence - its been a delightful poster & film to work on. I’ve also been talking over on Soda’s blog ‘Fizz’ recently about the design process for this, so if you’re interested to know how this poster came to be then I encourage you to head on over.
You can check out the US poster which I fist saw over on Cinematical a while back- and I think that the international poster is also out there somewhere.

and yes it took a lot to prevent me from putting a speech bubble coming out of that horses mouth
Great film (Saw it at Tribeca Film Fest) and nice poster work! The horse head imagery is certainly the most striking image in the entirety of the film. Though the quote bubble would have been nice…
